On Mar. 24, Rosemary Paz and Senator Grzeskowiak-Amezquita will start the program by introducing Galdo. The Sun Star will promote the event. Officer Reports

Senate Chair – Senator Joshua Luther has resigned. The Senate Chair is currently vacant.

President Todd Vorisek – A group of students including President Vorisek and some Senators present went to Juneau to advocate GPS, full Regent funding, a life sciences building and a needs-based component to GPS. President Vorisek says the trip went well, that there was much support among the representatives and senators and that Director Carvajal will give a detailed report at the next Senate meeting. President Vorisek also noted that he wishes there to be a referendum proposing to increase the student government fee from $35 to $40. He noted that such an attempt has been made, voted upon and failed in the past, but feels it is necessary. President Vorisek notified the meeting that the next RISE meeting would take place on Mar. 23 at 1 p.m. In the Co-operative extension building.

For the Good of the Senate

Senator Cervin asks how long Senator Joshua Luther will be gone. Senator Duffy answers that former Senator Luther has resigned his position as Senator and Senate Chair effective immediately with the following note:

“Quit – Josh Luther. Keys in the desk drawer will get gavel later.”
