Whereas, the Youth Commission provides a forum for youth perspective in local government and community issues as well as a way for area teens to help improve their community;

Whereas, the Youth Commission is comprised of 9 members, 9 teachers and advisors, and 3 non-voting adult partners;

Whereas, the Youth Commission has monthly meetings, participates in ongoing community projects and political events, and sponsors annual youth leadership training; and

Whereas, it is important for UAF to have a voting representative; Therefore be it

Resolved, that the youth commissioner shall be no more than 20 years old and be an elected representative for a one year term elected in the Spring Semester election; and be it further

Resolved, that in the event that there is no elected Youth Commissioner the ASUAF President holds the right to nominate one candidate approved by the ASUAF senate
