1201. Resignation

Resignations must be submitted in writing to the designated person(s) below:

1202. Biweekly Faculty/Staff Recognition
1202.1.1
Any ASUAF member may nominate, in writing, one Faculty and/or Staff member for the Biweekly recognition award.
1202.1.2
The nominations are due at 5:00 PM on the Monday before the regular Senate meeting, at which the results are to be announced.
1202.2
After the nominations are in until one-half hour before the Senate Meeting on Sunday, the ASUAF President, any ASUAF Director, and any ASUAF Senator may cast a ballot for one Faculty member and one Staff member.
1202.3
The results of the process will be announced at the Senate Meeting during "Senate Chair Remarks".
1202.4
The award shall be placed on ASUAF letterhead and signed by the ASUAF President, the Senate Chair, and the Senate Clerk and delivered to the honoree.
1202.5
Copies of the award shall be forwarded to the Sun-Star, KSUA, and KUAC for dissemination to the entire public.
1203. Student Travel Contract
1203.1
All students traveling on ASUAF funds shall be required to sign the Student Travel Contract.
1203.2
The Student Travel Contract shall be amended by resolution of the Senate and approval of General Council.
1203.3
Timely appeals of disciplinary complaints shall be submitted no later than 10 calendar days after the completion of travel, or the end of the fiscal year, whichever is sooner.
1204. Initiative Process
1204.1
A petition, to be valid, must include the following on each page:
1204.1.1
“We, the undersigned, support the inclusion of the following question:”
1204.1.2
The exact wording of the question to be placed on the ballot.
1204.1.3
“on the next general ballot”, or “on a special ballot to be voted upon on” and the requested date of the election.
1210. Honorary Titles:
1210.1
ASUAF honors its outstanding members, who have served the students far beyond the call of duty, by conferring honorary titles, which are applicable for the life of the member.
1210.2
These honorary titles may only be conferred upon persons who have received a degree from UAF, and are not currently serving in any elected or appointed position in ASUAF.
1210.3
An honorary title is conferred by adopting a Senate Resolution by the appropriate vote, naming the honoree and the title to be conferred.
1210.4
Upon the conferral of an honorary title, the Clerk shall prepare a certificate honoring the conferee, to be signed by the President, Senate Chair, and Senate Clerk.
1211. President Emeritus
1211.1
A former President of ASUAF, who
1211.1.1
has consistently shown great concern for the welfare of the students of UAF;
1211.1.2
has continued to be an advocate for students following his or her graduation from UAF; and
1211.1.3
has served beyond the call of duty in his or her position as President;
1211.2
May be elected President Emeritus by three-quarter vote of the Senate and approval by the current President.
1211.3
A President Emeritus is addressed as "President" and enjoys the full privilege of debate in any meeting of the Senate.
1212. Senator Emeritus
1212.1
Any former ASUAF Senator who
1212.1.1
has consistently shown great concern for the students of UAF;
1212.1.2
has improved the quality of ASUAF or of student life; and
1212.1.3
has served far beyond the call of duty in his or her position as Senator;
1212.2
May be elected Senator Emeritus by three-fourths vote of the Senate and approval by the President.
1212.3
A Senator Emeritus is addressed as "Senator" and enjoys the full privilege of debate in any meeting of the Senate.
1213. Honorary Member
1213.1
Any former member of ASUAF who
1213.1.1
Has shown great leadership while a member of ASUAF;
1213.1.2
Has assisted ASUAF, either as an employee or volunteer, far beyond that typically shown by ASUAF members; and
1213.1.3
Continues to show concern for the welfare of UAF students;
1213.2
May be elected an Honorary Member of ASUAF by three-fourths vote of the Senate and approval by the President.
1213.3
An Honorary Member of ASUAF enjoys the full privilege of debate at any meeting of the Senate.
1214. Nominations for Honorary Titles
1214.1
Nominations shall occur twice per semester; once at a senate meeting near midterms, and once at the final senate meeting of the academic year.
1215. Rescinding an Honorary Title
1215.1
Any President Emeritus, Senator Emeritus, or Honorary Member may have his or her honorary title revoked by a three-fourths vote of the senate.
